Description
A leading player in flood risk prevention
Established in 2006 by local elected officials and the Minister for the Environment, as part of the continuation of the Loire Plan, CEPRI is a pioneering actor in flood risk prevention in France and across Europe. A true “pathfinder,” it brings together the most advanced local authorities in risk management within a single, dedicated centre.
CEPRI is built on:
a network of elected officials and technical experts that encourages the sharing of experience and good practice;
a team of specialists supporting territories in strengthening resilience and post-disaster recovery;
on-the-ground facilitation with public and private stakeholders, contributing to the evolution of public policies and the implementation of the Floods Directive.
A laboratory and a resource centre
Active in mainland France and overseas territories, CEPRI supports its members, promotes their initiatives, and contributes to the work of ministries and Parliament. It has produced more than 50 reference publications, developed in partnership with the main associations of elected officials and technical stakeholders in the sector.
A national and European network
CEPRI leads committees of elected officials, technical networks, and thematic working groups, fostering collective intelligence and the exchange of experience at both national and European levels.
