PRODUCT LAUNCH DATE: 2018
Born from the meeting between an EMS intervener and an electrical material manufacturer, this solution consists in controlling a lighting thanks to a web application configured within the EMS regulation room.
It allows the EMS regulating doctor to benefit from an essential time saving by meeting the regulatory requirements of the air vector.
ON THE MEDICAL LEVEL: The expected benefit of a heliborne medical intervention concerns the quality and the safety of the emergency care. In any emergency care system, this vector is the prerogative of specialized medical teams.
SAFETY AND PATIENT COMFORT: Helicopter transport benefits from a high level of safety, based on civil aviation regulations. Patient comfort is linked to the reduction of vibrations on board the helicopter. Similarly, horizontal and vertical accelerations are much less than with land transport, generating little or no hemodynamic repercussions on the patient being transported.
SPEED OF INTERVENTION: Helicopter transport reduces the time of access to emergency care in two ways: by bringing in a specialized care team faster than by ground transport; by reducing the transport time to the hospital with the appropriate technical platform. A French study has shown that primary and secondary transport time is divided by two when the heliport mode is used appropriately.
One of the development axes is to make the system economical and affordable from 3450€/HT so that each municipality is able to equip itself with the e-Boo
Make flight crews fully autonomous (remote lighting, local weather, GPS tracking, secure key box in gated enclosures…)
Accelerate and facilitate the activation of the helicopter by night and day (the doctor is aware that the pilot will react more quickly and will ensure his decision, for a 100% assured mission), avoid weather turnarounds.
Securing night flights (ability to trigger the nearest Dz e-boo in the event of an emergency landing at night)
In addition to providing the ability to illuminate the landing site remotely, the e-boo offers access to local information for safer decision making:
Meteorological data (wind axis and strength necessary to decide the final approach heading to the landing site (a helicopter lands facing the wind to ensure its safety), temperature (define the upcoming conditions according to the dew point, note icing conditions dangerous for the flight …), altitude of the site…
A visibility of the place through the camera to check the conditions in live (functioning of the lighting, presence of fog or mist, or obstacles such as one or more vehicles parked on the landing site…)
GPS tracking, allowing to check the course to be followed throughout the flight and the remaining flight time, for a better organization with the ground teams.
The objective of the e-boo innovation is to enable the development of night-time helicopter interventions, to accelerate and facilitate their launch within the same timeframe at night as during the day.
Optimize the access to emergency care (SAMU, Civil Security), the intervention of police teams, in any place and at any time on the whole national territory.
Secure night flights with the possibility to light up the nearest landing place in case of urgent need.
